Thu 16th Sep TOYAH WILLCOX
8-12 £17 Adv / £20 Door Buy Tickets
TOYAH WILLCOX first became well-known during the punk rock era, her appearances in Derek Jarman's 1977 film Jubilee, 1979's Who album-inspired Quadrophenia, which launched her as a provocative and anti-establishment figure. Fronting a band known as Toyah, her singing career was slow to take off and the band released six singles in the UK before finally hitting the charts in 1981, with "It's a Mystery". This was followed by several other huge hits including "Thunder In The Mountains" and "I Want to Be Free". These singles were also successful on an international level.
In 1982, she was voted Best Female Singer at the British Rock and Pop Awards — since restyled as The BRIT Awards, or "BRITs" and in 1987 she made the top fifty with her version of "Echo Beach".
Toyah has released 30 albums 7 of which have been UK Top 40 successes. She has 13 UK top 40 singles, making her one of the most successful female artists in British history.
In 2001, 'Q' magazine named Toyah number 48 in their top 100 Greatest Women in Music poll, as voted for by readers of the magazine and in 2009, Toyah came 7th in a BBC series naming the 'Queens of British Pop,' as voted for by the British Public.
She has also appeared as a presenter of programmes such as Songs of Praise, Holiday (BBC), and Good Sex Guide Late as well as being a guest on several shows such as The Heaven and Earth Show, Through the Keyhole and Loose Women. She also provided the voices for the children's television programmes Teletubbies and Brum and has also appeared in the reality television series I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and I'm Famous and Frightened!.
Toyah has had two best selling books published. Following her 2000 autobiography Living Out Loud, Toyah had a further autobiographical book published in 2005 documenting her experience of cosmetic surgery, Diary of a Facelift. This is a night certainly not to be missed!!!

Sat 25th Sep THE BIZZAROS + Support
8pm - 2am £5 Adv / £6 Door Buy Tickets
The material is eclectic and electric, white trash soul, rock, blues, r’n’b, funk and ska, with such a diverse range of material available this is not a band that slots into one particular style or genre but effortlessly glides between a bewildering range of material to leave their audiences grooving.
The Bizzarros themselves have musical CVs which are pretty amazing in themselves, a World Champion Blues Harp Player, the guy that wrote most of the Monty Python film music, guys from bands like Talk Talk, Bad Manners, Jeff Beck Band and record company house session musicians, fronted by the prodigious talent that is Isaac Rose, a 22 year old singer with a huge voice. These guys have played with everyone from Fleetwood Mac to Jools Holland.
You know that feeling when you hear something that makes you want to move your feet and hop around with a huge grin on your face well that is what The Bizzarros are all about and the audience at The Horn will get a chance to hear it for themselves tonight, every time they play they bring the house down, let the good times roll with a bang !!!

Tue 23rd Nov HAZEL O'CONNOR & THE SUBTERRANEANS + Support from TENSHEDS
8-12 £17.50 adv / £20 door Buy Tickets
Striding into the spotlight, with her lead role in Dodi Fayed's cult movie Breaking Glass in 1980, Hazel immediately became an iconic figure as well as a BAFTA nominated actress. She was the first female to star in a hit film and also write and perform its soundtrack, which went Top 5.
Hazel O'Connor with her sultry vocals is no stranger to the live scene. Consistently recording and touring, Hazel took to the road with a stage show about her amazing life story - Beyond Breaking Glass. It took Edinburgh by storm in 1998 and again in 2008 and has toured the world. The impossibility of performing classic new wave songs accompanied only by the celebrated Irish harp player, Cormac De Barra, has been wooing audiences since those first shows, all those years ago.
Formed in 1998, The Subterraneans are - on vocals, Tony Dangerfield (Wonderland, Ocean Colour Scene), on guitars Mark Roberts (Chris Evans, TFI Fridays) and Andy Shortland (Doctor And The Medics, Cloven Hoof), bass guitarist Kevin Lomas (Wonderland, Roy Wood, 2-Tone Collective) and drummer Steve Tombs who has worked with all of the others at some stage. Long time collaborator, Clare Hirst on saxophone, currently also performs with Hazel in the Bluja Project and is perhaps best known for work with Bellestars, Communards, Maxi Priest and David Bowie among others.
“ It's all there, that voice, soaring sax, layered drums and textured guitar riffs...timeless...” Glastonbury Festival
“The sturdiness and earthy expression of her voice...marvellous” Hot Press
