I want to go to a show but it's sold out, will there be tickets on the door / can I go on the guestlist?
Nope. We sell tickets until we reach our legal capacity - and once we reach that number, we do not have any more to sell. We don’t hold back tickets for the door! It’s not that we don’t like you or don’t want you to come, but there simply isn’t enough room, sorry.
Do you have a waiting/returns list for sold out shows?
Nope. Your best bet will be to check the Facebook event (@hornvenue) for anyone reselling their tickets. Good luck!
My band would like to play at The Horn, St Albans and/or The Horn at The Half Moon, Bishop’s Stortford, who do I speak to?
Please email email@example.com with all your details and links relevant sites. Please don’t attach files unless requested – links are the way forward. Please feel free to send in CD’s in the post, we don’t have a CD player but they make great coasters.
What are our opening hours?
Sunday to Thursday > Midday – Midnight.
Friday & Saturday > Midday – 2am.
How do I get there?
If you are coming by train, we are no more than 40 meters away from St Albans City Railway Station. There are also buses that stop regularly just outside the venue. If you come by car, we advise the use of a satellite navigation system. They are very useful. Our postcode is AL1 3TE. Please Click Here for more info.
Is The Horn an accessible venue?
Please read all our info on accessibility here.
Can I do work experience with you?
Yes – please get in touch by email.
Can I take photos of bands at The Horn?
Ticket-holders are welcome to bring their own cameras to take photos of local shows. To take photos of touring bands you will need to contact their PR and request press list – this isn't something we can help with.
What’s the capacity?
The venue room has a capacity of 200
Can I buy tickets on the telephone?
Yes. Our main ticket partner is Ticketweb. They have a ticket hotline number which is 08444 771 000.
I left something, can I come and collect it?
Of course – please call or email first.
I am a promoter and I want to put on a night, how do I go about this?
Please send us an email with what you would like to do at the venue. We would be keen to know what you have done previously and see some links to those nights. Please understand that we would love to work with everyone, but we need to make sure that it’s going to be a good show.
What equipment can The Horn provide?
We will provide bands with the PA, mics and stands that would be required. We have a number of DIs but sometimes its not enough. If you believe you are going to require more, please notify us beforehand.
Stompbox who are an official dealership for Orange Amps have supplied us with:
2 x Orange Amps - Crush Pro CR60C Guitar combo
1 x Orange - Crush CR100BXT Bass Combo
All are free for bands to use.
All bands will need to ensure they bring their own backline, unless they have agreed anything in advance. We do not have a drumkit to lend. If you have a show coming up, we will arrange for an advancing chat to be created using Facebook messages so that this can be discussed with other acts booked on the night.
Where can I park to load into the venue?
There is a load-in driveway next to the venue that’s reserved for bands (Alma Road end), and you can load straight in onto the stage.
Do you have a backstage area?
Yes, we do. We have a room behind the stage. However, you can’t see the other bands from there. We would suggest standing out front.
